In a piece of bad news for the Australian cricket team, their prominent all-rounder Cameron Green is set to miss the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Green has opted for his lower spine surgery after being diagnosed with his fifth stress fracture in his lower back which will sideline him from all sorts of cricketing actions for at least six months. Follow-up scans and thorough evaluations revealed the extent of the fracture after he experienced lower back pain during the recent England tour. The recovery from any injury can vary depending on the individual, but it typically takes at least nine months. However, Cricket Australia is optimistic that he could be back in six months. This timeline would see him miss the entire summer of cricket, including the five-Test series against India, the Sri Lanka tour, and the Champions Trophy.
