Majority of the senior players in the current Indian team have failed miserably against Australia in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have not performed as per the expectations. Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill have also been under the shadow in this series, and this has allowed Australia to take 2-1 lead in the series, making it impossible for India to win the series. After a devastating defeat by 184 runs in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Gautam Gambhir, the Indian head coach have strictly warned the Indian cricketers to play as per the plan. Frustrated Gambhir called out the Indian players for not going according to the decided plan, instead playing the 'Natural Game'. According to the report of the Indian Express, Gautam Gambhir used the term 'Bohot ho gaya' in the Indian dressing room and said that he has given a lot of freedom since his appointment as the head coach of team India, but here on, he will decide how to go ahead and the one who won't follow his instructions would see themselves out of the roster. The environment in the dressing room isn't appealing and with Rohit Sharma being out of form in this format of the game, a senior cricketer is seeking to take over as the youngsters aren't ready enough for the responsibility. However, the management is not sure whether this move would be fruitful or not.
