Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have faced yet another setback as their star bowlers are suffering from injury concerns ahead of the IPL 2025 opening match. In the latest piece of disappointing news, Akash Deep is unlikely to feature in the first few matches of the upcoming IPL 2025 season due to injury as reported by Times of India (TOI). The former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) bowler has been missing in action since the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT). He suffered a back injury during the fourth Test match and has still not regained his full fitness ahead of IPL 2025. Akash Deep is currently rehabilitating at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru to regain his full fitness. Along with him, Mayank Yadav is also working hard to regain his full fitness ahead of the opening match, he has started bowling in the nets but he is yet to clear the fitness test and his participation in the first match is highly doubtful. With IPL 2025 just a few days away, LSG and their skipper Rishabh Pant must be stressing over their players' fitness. Talking about Mohsin Khan, the left-arm pacer suffered a calf injury and is likely to be ruled out of the entire IPL 2025 tournament. Meanwhile, Avesh Khan has regained his full fitness and is expected to join the camp soon. The reports also added that LSG has contacted Shardul Thakur and Shivam Mavi as the backup bowlers ahead of the new season. Both have been training with the LSG squad for the last few days.
