At the age of just 14, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is writing his own story. From striking every bowler in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to hitting centuries in England and Australia for India’s U-19 team. India has seen many teenage sensations throughout the years, even Sachin Tendulkar debuted at the age of 16 and gave everything for the country for 24 continuous years. Recently, Rajasthan Royals’ Director of High Performance, Zubin Barucha, thinks that Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already done enough to fast-track him, like Sachin Tendulkar, to the senior Indian men’s national team. Furthermore, Barucha thinks that he is ready to play for India A alongside the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad. As quoted by The Times of India, Barucha said: “He should be blooded into the senior team immediately, like Sachin was all those years ago. They have to blood this guy immediately, boss, because he is in another zone only. At least send him on an India A tour. Send him to India A immediately. I’m telling you, this Australian attack that is here, bowling to India A guys, he would have got a double hundred.” Also Read: Starc returns, Cummins out: Australia ODI squad vs India Barucha then recalls the incident when England's premier fast bowler, Jofra Archer, was left fuming while bowling to this 14-year-old kid in the nets during the 2025 IPL season. Barucha said that Vaibhav was easily able to play the fast-paced deliveries of this pace sensation. Barucha further said: "He smoked Jofra Archer in the nets. Jofra Archer, when he bowls in the nets, he's a demon. He never bowls a warm-up ball when the batter is there. He absolutely charges in. And actually, Jofra Archer knocked off Steve Smith's head in a practice session we had before the Ashes. Smith was struggling against him. From that day onwards, he never went inside the net when Jofra was bowling. When he was bowling to Vaibhav, I was scared, and this boy hit one shot on the back foot, and it went out of the stadium. All the coaching staff, even Jofra, were stunned" Ever since making the fastest T20 century at the age of 14, Vaibhav has been unstoppable since then. Recently, the teenage sensation scored a century against Australia A in the first match of the Youth Test series from just 78 balls in Brisbane.
