Blessing Muzarabani has claimed 41 Test wickets prior to the match against Zimbabwe. He took 3 wickets for 50 runs in the first innings, leading Zimbabwe to bowl out Bangladesh for only 191 runs. Regardless of rain inducing numerous delays, Zimbabwe was able to achieve an 82-run lead. In the second innings, the Zimbabwe quick was even better. He took 6 wickets for 72 runs, which is now the second-best bowling figures in a single innings by a Zimbabwean in an overseas Test. The only better one is Douglas Hondo's 6 for 59 against Bangladesh in Dhaka during the 2004/05 series. Muzarabani’s overall match figures, 9 wickets for 122 runs, are the second-best for Zimbabwe in an away Test match. The best still belongs to Heath Streak, who took 9 for 72 against the West Indies in Port of Spain in the 1999/00 series. That match is remembered for West Indies defending a low target of 99 runs. Earlier this year, Muzarabani also took 7 for 58 against Ireland at Bulawayo, the best innings bowling by any Zimbabwe quick bowler in Test cricket. He has taken three six-wicket hauls in Tests, only the second Zimbabwe player to do so after Heath Streak. But while Muzarabani finally achieved it, Streak never was able to take seven wickets in an innings. The 28-year-old pacer also equaled Heath Streak's record of taking 50 Test wickets in 11 matches. Some of the world's best bowlers who achieved 50 wickets in their first 11 Tests are Jasprit Bumrah, Jack Gregory, Sonny Ramadhin, Jeff Thomson, Allan Donald, Harbhajan Singh, and Saeed Ajmal. The record for quickest to 50 Test wickets remains with Charlie Turner, who achieved it in a mere six Tests.
