The third Indian women's ODI against Australia, initially scheduled at Junction Oval in Melbourne on March 1, 2026, has been relocated to Hobart. This follows the delay in the installation of new floodlights at Junction Oval, which was to host its first-ever women's international match under lights. Cricket Australia (CA) clarified that the ongoing, incomplete installation would have also impacted access for spectators, with no choice but to shift the game. This adjustment provides Hobart consecutive ODIs in the series, with the second and third games now both booked at Bellerive Oval. Peter Roach, CA Head of Cricket Operations and Scheduling, added, "We are disappointed we have had to move this match from Junction Oval and that there will be no women’s international match in Melbourne this season. We anticipated the Junction Oval lights would be installed several weeks before this fixture and were looking forward to celebrating the first international match under lights at the ground." Rescheduling was out since there was only one day between the second and third ODIs. The MCG was another possible venue, but it too was out due to reconstruction work. Nonetheless, Junction Oval will still entertain matches for the Melbourne Stars and Renegades in WBBL, though those will be day matches. Domestic cricket obligations will also proceed as scheduled. This ODI series forms part of a broader multi-format tour that starts with three T20Is and culminates in a historic day-night Test at the WACA ground in Perth. The rescheduling reflects a change in the women's cricket calendar, with the WPL now scheduled in January and the Women's ODI World Cup for October. This has ushered Australia's home season forward into February and March. Australia captain Alyssa Healy had previously expressed her opinion on the scheduling, stating, "Not having an international fixture in that school holiday period does hurt a little bit, but in saying that, it kind of extends the cricket season, which isn’t completely a bad thing for our sport."
