The Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi sheds light on his partnership with Tilak Varma, recalling a reel he shared on his Instagram saying, "Why should batters have all the fun." In the reel, edited by Lucknow Super Giants, Bishnoi was seen walking with the bat, and bringing reference to that, he feels, he rightly justified the caption by giving good support to Tilak Varma. Bishnoi, who hit two boundaries in the final stages to simplify the chase, mentioned that his focus was on rotating the strike to Varma, as he was in good form. In the post-match conference, Bishnoi said, “My job was to give him (Tilak) strike and not play any unnecessary shots. Today I posted a reel on Instagram – “Why should batters have all the fun?" When the slip came in, I knew they were trying to dismiss me with leg-spin. I tried to go over covers but I got a lucky four." However, the other side was falling down quicky. It was Washington Sundar who quickfired 26 runs, easing down the pressure. After the departure of Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh, it was Bishnoi's job to partner Tilak. Bishnoi revealed that they trusted in themselves, further admiring Tilak's briliance under pressure. Bishnoi added, “(We told each other) let’s try, we will get (achieve) it. One of the best innings in T20s. Wickets were falling, it wasn’t an easy wicket and if you look at their bowling attack, they had all the big names. He’s doing this from the last 2-3 months. He got two hundred in South Africa, he’s playing well in the domestic arena as well, we knew something big was coming. He’s doing really big now." Varma clearly trusted both Bishnoi's advice and his own abilities, as the left-hander played a scintillating knock of 72* off 55 balls, featuring 4 fours and 5 sixes, guiding India to a crucial victory. With this win, India now leads the five-match series 2-0 against England. The next clash will take place on January 28 in Rajkot.
