A 15-member squad has been announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board for the impending three-match ODI series against the Zimbabwe women's national cricket team it is an historic moment for Zimbabwe as their team is scheduled to tour Pakistan for the first time in its history. The three matches of the ODI series would be played at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi from May 4-9. These three ODIs will be part of the ICC Women's Championship 2025-29 series. The matches would be of immense significance to both sides owing to their respective standings in the championship. All three matches of the ODI series would be held at the National Bank Stadium Karachi on May 4, 6 and 9 respectively. Fatima Sana would be leading the Pakistan women's cricket team throughout all three ODIs as captain of the squad. At present, Pakistan women's cricket team is at the fifth spot while Zimbabwe's women's cricket team is at the eighth spot in the championship. Momina Riasat called up for the first time The key selection for the series is the call-up of uncapped leg spinner Momina Riasat to the 15-member Pakistan squad. She has earned her spot on the basis of her scintillating performances in the domestic circuit. She picked 16 wickets in nine innings at an economy rate of 6.92 during the PAK-W National T20 2026 while she further continued her dominance at the Women's One Day Cup 2025 where she scalped 19 wickets in 8 innings at an amazing economy rate of 3.77. Zimbabwe women would arrive in Karachi on April 29 and will be involved in net practice sessions at the stadium with the home side from April 30 to May 3. At present, Pakistan is 5th in the league table, and Zimbabwe is 8th. Hence, both the sides will be desperate to get some crucial points in this series. A lot in store for Pakistan women The bilateral ODI series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe would be followed by a three-match T20I series between the same nations at the same venue on May 12, 14, 15 respectively with the fixtures starting at 7:30pm. The squad for the T20I series is expected to be announced later on. From Karachi, the Pakistan women's team would depart for a Tri-series in Ireland involving Ireland and West Indies on May 28, 2026 at the International Care B.V Twenty 20tri-series. This challenging international season would be a vital phase of preparation for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 which will be played in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5, 2026. Pakistan is pooled in the tough Group 1 of the tournament which also comprises of India, South Africa, Bangladesh, Australia and Netherlands.
