They ended up scoring 405 runs for seven wickets. Travis Head and Steve Smith centuries put Australia in a dominating position at the end of the day. India resumed the day with some good bowling, and eventually they got both the openers. Both the openers were packed by Jasprit Bumrah. First Bumrah swept Usman Khawaja, and then he got the edge of good-looking young Nathan McSweeney. Things looked good for India, but then Steve Smith and Labuschagne had a little partnership. After the wicket of Marnus Labuschagne, India was in a strong position, but Steve Smith and Travis had a great partnership that took the game away from India. Both shared a partnership of 241 runs for the fourth wicket. Eventually Bumrah broke the partnership, but the Australian lower order made things difficult for the India as they scored quick runs and helped Australia to reach 405 at the end of the day. Once again, Indian could not solve the problem of Travis Head, who scored his second century of the series, and it was his third Test century against India. He scored 152 runs; on the other hand, Steve Smith also scored his 10th Test ton against India and his 33rd overall in his Test career.
