A new report has revealed that Bengaluru Police had recommended postponing the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) victory parade due to crowd control concerns, advice that was reportedly overruled by the Karnataka state government and cricket organisers. According to a report by Deccan Herald, senior police officers had urged the organisers to shift the celebratory event to Sunday, June 8, instead of holding it on June 5, just a day after RCB lifted their maiden IPL trophy in Ahmedabad. The suggestion was aimed at allowing authorities more time to manage logistics and ensure crowd safety. However, the state government and RCB officials reportedly declined the suggestion, citing that many foreign players would soon leave the country and might not be available later in the week. As per the report, this urgency was one of the main reasons the parade was held on Wednesday, despite warnings.
