In an innings-and-47-run-innings victory, England took the first Test and then squandered two successive tests to hand the series 2-1 to the Pakistan. The latter threw everything into the spin arsenal, and the changes they carried out after losing the opener really paid off as their man Shan Masood led Pakistan to their first Test Series since the past five years over the English. England captain Ben Stokes was very disappointed after the series loss, especially as they had defeated them 3-0 in 2022. The all-rounder said that the visitors could not rise to the challenge in the last two games of the series and expects the players to learn from the defeats and prepare better for such challenges in the future. “Disappointing, losing games and losing series’. We weren’t able to match the challenges in the last two games, credit to Pakistan. Moving forward, we’ll look to match those challenges as we come up against them,” Stokes said in the post-match presentation.
