England has announced their playing XI for the final Test against India at The Oval in the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Series. Ollie Pope will be leading the side for the final time in the series, as Ben Stokes has been ruled out. The England Cricket team has announced that Stokes is suffering from a right shoulder injury. Notably, Stokes sustained a hamstring pull while batting on Day at Manchester. While bowling in the second innings, he was visibly guarding his right arm after bowling a delivery. Honestly, Stokes went beyond his workload, piling up longer spells, and was the lead bowler for his team. In the four Tests, Stokes scored 304 runs and bagged 17 wickets, being a key member for England, having a lead of 2-1 in the series. Apart from Stokes, two other fast bowlers Brydon Carse and Jofra Archer, will be missing the final Test starting on July 31. Spinner Liam Dawson, who was added for the fourth Test in place of injured Shoaib Bashir, has also been rested. Moreover, the young Jacob Bethell has also been added to the eleven. The England Cricket Board released a statement saying: "The England Men’s team has announced four changes to their XI for the Rothesay Fifth Test against India at the Kia Oval, starting on Thursday. Captain Ben Stokes is unavailable due to a right shoulder injury. Also missing out are spinner Liam Dawson and pace bowlers Jofra Archer and Brydon Carse. England have included Jacob Bethell, who will bat at No.6. Surrey bowlers Gus Atkinson and Jamie Overton come into the side, along with Nottinghamshire quick Josh Tongue."
