Was Akash Deep ready? Probably not! Nobody would have ever imagined in their wildest dreams that India would go back having 4 down by the end of Day 4. Shubman Gill, the captain of India, who has piled up 600 runs in the series, survived a DRS but then got dismissed by an LBW anyhow. Akash Deep was seen fumbling, rumbling and somehow hustling to the field. The team had sent him as the night watchman. His shoelaces were hanging, no thigh pad; half-ready would be an understatement to the Akash Deep that walked in to partner KL Rahul. Adding to the misery, Akash was suffering from some minor injury and was seen taking treatments on the sideline while India was bowling. While he walked to bat, he took treatments again. And England took full opportunity to give back what they got on Day 3 evening! Shubman went out in the last ball of the 15th over. the messed up Akash Deep stood on the other side, while KL faced the first ball of Stokes, and he stole 2 runs, leaving Stokes so frustrated that he shouted on his own teammate. All England wanted was to have Akash on stroke. They got Akash on strike in the fifth ball, which he defended and took a run in the next. Brydon Carse came in the next over, and the drama started there. The first ball came smashing on his pads. England appealed but Paul Rieffel turned it down. The second one, Akash nicely defended. The third one again hit pads. England took a review but Akash survived with the umpire's call. Read also: Pant Should Share Match Fee: Karthik But after that, the physio came out. He did some strapping on Akash's thigh before he pulled up his pants. And by then the clapping started, something India did on Day 3. After the fifth ball, Carse came and challenged Akash and later almost welcomed him. Ben Stokes intervened, and KL got himself involved, but with a smile, nodding head, probably showing pitty to sledge a night watchman. And why shouldn't they? That what a high-voltage Test looks like!
