Shubman Gill’s potential absence adds to the worries, prompting the management to explore backup options. According to a report by The Times of India, either Padikkal or Sudharsan could be asked to remain with the squad as a reserve player. Both players have been in Australia for some time, having represented India A in two matches against Australia A last month. They showcased their talent as standout performers in those games, consistently contributing with the bat. Currently, Padikkal and Sudharsan are involved in match simulations in Perth. While the India A team is scheduled to leave Perth around midnight on November 17, there’s a strong likelihood that one of these promising left-handers will stay back as part of the main team setup.
