The BCCI and the IPL governing council are looking at various cities as the date for IPL 2025 auction draws close. Incidentally, Singapore has now been shortlisted as a venue, as indicated by a report in Cricbuzz. The IPL governing council is reported to be scanning options in Saudi Arabia, with Riyadh and Jeddah already being shortlisted earlier. While the IPL 2024 auction was held at Dubai, that city didn't top the list of preferences this time around. London too had been considered before being ruled out on account of fears of colder temperatures in November when the auction is slated to take place. Singapore has the advantage of proximity to the Indian subcontinent with a sizeable Indian expatriate community. It also offers a warmer climate that the IPL governing council likes, hence a go-to place for holding the auction. Also Read | IPL 2025: Is Rohit Sharma Joining RCB?
