The Board of Cricket Control in India has decided to lodge a "strong protest" in the coming ICC meeting in November against Pakistan Cricket Board's chief, Mohsin Naqvi, who is the acting chief of the Asian Cricket Council. Notably, Naqvi walked out with the trophy after the India team officially refused to receive the trophy from him. Justifying India's refusal, Devajit Saikia, BCCI Secretary, said that they won't receive anything from a warmongering country. However, that doesn't count Naqvi will take away the trophy and the medals. Saikia said, “So far as the trophy is concerned, trophy distribution, India cannot take the trophy from the person who is waging a war against our country." He added, “We have taken a decision not to accept the trophy but that does not allow the gentleman to take away the trophy and the medals to his hotel. This is unexpected, very childish in nature and we will launch a very strong protest with ICC in the forthcoming ICC meeting to be held in Dubai in the first week of November." Meanwhile, the India team was present, chilling at a distance, scrolling phones, chatting and making reels. None of the Pakistan players were present during the presentation. After the host Simon Doull introduced the stakeholders and others present on the stage, he concluded the presentation, confirming that India is not receiving the award. Soon after Naqvi walked out with a management staff following behind with the trophy in hand.
