The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to make their final call on Jasprit Bumrah’s participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy on February 11, Tuesday as reported by ESPNcricinfo. Jasprit Bumrah is currently at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. The star bowler had suffered a back injury during the Sydney Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), therefore he couldn’t come to bowl in the second innings of the Test match as well. Earlier it was stated that the 31-year-old pacer could make his comeback till the Champions Trophy but looking at his slow growth and recovery; it will be fair to say that his participation is unlikely to happen. He recently underwent scans on his back and the medical staff will now be coordinating with the selectors and the Indian team management before making the decision related to his participation in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as per ESPNcricinfo. The reports further added that if Jasprit Bumrah remains sidelined with his injury then Harshit Rana could be added as his potential replacement in the squad. The pacer is currently with the Indian team, participating in the England ODI series where he has been delivering excellent performance with the ball. Harshit Rana as Potential Replacement Harshit Rana made his debut for the Indian team in the ongoing ODI series against England. He has already featured in the first ODIs and has grabbed everyone’s attention with his commendable performance in both matches where he has taken 4 wickets across both matches. He might not have much experience playing ODI cricket but could be a like-to-like potential replacement for the team if used in an ideal way.
