The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has strongly criticized Congress spokesperson Dr. Shama Mohamed for her remarks on Indian captain Rohit Sharma. In a now-deleted post on X, Shama called Rohit "fat" and claimed he was "the most unimpressive captain India has ever had." The post made by Dr. Shama Mohammed says, “@ImRo45 is fat for a sportsman! Need to lose weight! And of course the most unimpressive Captain India has ever had!” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia condemned the comment, calling it unfortunate, especially with India set to play the ICC Champions Trophy semi-final against Australia. Speaking to the ANI, Saikia said, "It is disappointing to see such remarks from a responsible person at a crucial time when the team needs full support." Rohit Sharma, a T20 World Cup-winning captain, has led India to multiple victories, including an unbeaten run in the Champions Trophy group stage. Winning a T20 World Cup is not impressive, but losing elections is?" Despite the controversy, Rohit remains focused on India's campaign. The team dominated the group stage, defeating Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand. Now all eyes are on the semi-final clash against Australia in Dubai.
