After 11 innocent lives went under the boots on the occasion of a mere victory parade on June 4, the Board of Cricket Control for India has finally issued strict 10- point principles for celebration after winning the Indian Premier League Trophy. Earlier, the BCCI held an Apex Council meeting for several things to discuss, including the victory parade protocols, and the rules have been disclosed for now. Notably, BCCI had openly denied any linkage or accountability with the proceedings, but the interim president, Devajit Saikia, expressed his strong voice against this nonsense. Addressing the seriousness of the issue, Sakia assured that BCCI is "taking every aspect of risk very seriously to avoid any future mishaps." And that the teams, whoever wins in a season, will have to follow the guideline before getting on the road. Teams are restricted from organizing celebrations within 3–4 days of winning a title. Events must not be hastily scheduled to ensure quality planning and execution. Prior approval from the BCCI is compulsory before hosting any celebratory event. No celebration is allowed without a formal written go-ahead from the board. A mandatory 4 to 5-tier security setup is required for all such events. Multiple layers of security must be in place at venues and during travel. Security coverage must include the team’s journey from airport to the event location. Full protection of players and staff is essential throughout the entire event. Approval must also be secured from district police, state governments, and local bodies. Civic and law enforcement clearance is necessary to conduct any event lawfully and securely. Notably, the RCB victory parade was organized right after the team won the trophy. As per reports, certain players were hurrying to leave the country soon. Not only that, as per reports, the Karnataka Police has warned the government on the required security for locals as well as the players, which was all overlooked. As an aftermath of the situations, RCB announced indemnification of INR 10 lakhs to each family of the deceased fans. Even KSCA announced INR 5 lakh to each. The Head of Marketing for RCB and two representatives from DNA Entertainment have been taken into custody. Meanwhile, the Secretary and Treasurer of KSCA have stepped down, citing moral accountability.
