The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has imposed tighter regulations for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The majority of these changes are specifically aimed at the involvement of family members, player travel policies, fitness tests, and behavior on match days. Most Significant Regulations Adopted by BCCI Prohibition of Family Members Family members of support staff and players are not allowed into the dressing room during practice or match days. On training days, only approved staff can go into the dressing room and on the ground. Friends and relatives have to travel separately and cannot view practice sessions from the hospitality area. Extended support staff like net bowlers and throw-down experts need pre-approval from BCCI. Travel Regulations for Players Players have to travel on the team bus for practice as well as matches. Teams can divide travel into two groups but are not allowed to use personal transport. Fitness Test Restrictions No fitness tests are allowed on the main square on match days. Physios once used the main pitch for final checks, but this is now prohibited. For any requests for fitness tests on match days, teams are required to contact the venue manager. PMOA-accredited personnel are required to bring their accreditation. A warning will be given for the first transgression, followed by a fine for subsequent offenses. Player Conduct on Field Players are not allowed to strike the LED boards even though they have hitting nets. Substitutes, support staff, and players may not sit in front of LED boards. Designated areas will be marked for substitutes with towels and water bottles. At least the first two overs are to be covered wearing the Orange and Purple Cap for broadcast purposes. Post-Match Presentation Rules Sleeveless jerseys and floppies are not to be worn by players during post-match presentations. Warning will be issued for the first offence, and there will be a monetary fine for subsequent offenses. Practice Session Guidelines Two nets in the practice area and one side wicket on the main square will be provided to teams for range hitting. In case of Mumbai venues, if both teams practice simultaneously, two wickets per team will be given. Open nets will not be permitted. If a team ends their match early, the other team cannot utilize their wickets. Practice on match days is not allowed. Also Read | IPL 2025: Why DC, RR and PBKS Have Two Home Venues?
