The team will start the cycle of World Test Championship 2025-27 with a visit to England in 2025. On August 22, 2024, BCCI announced India's schedule for a five-Test series against the Old Continent. India last visited England in 2021 for four Tests and came back in 2022 to complete the fifth Test. Under captain Virat Kohli, India was leading 2-1 after the first four Tests, only to see Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum's England come hard at them with their Bazball brand of cricket at Edgbaston in the final Test and win the game, courtesy twin centuries by Jonny Bairstow and a successful chase of 378 runs. As it will be, the upcoming series is going to have India again play five Tests, starting on June 20th the first Test at Headingley. The second Test, after that, goes to Edgbaston on July 2nd, the third to Lord's on July 10th, the fourth in Manchester on July 23rd, and the fifth at The Oval on July 31st. The women's team, other than the men's series, is also going to England in the near future for a white-ball series including three T20Is at Trent Bridge, Bristol, and Old Trafford, followed by three ODIs at Southampton, Lord's, and Chester-le-Street. It was also confirmed that India Women would play a one-off Test at Lord's in 2026.
