Amid the rift going around on social media, BCCI has now clarified that they are ready to feature the ‘Pakistan’ name along with the Champions Trophy logo for the upcoming event. The Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to be hosted by Pakistan but India will be playing their matches in UAE. Earlier, a few reports stated that the BCCI refused to write the host country's name on the Indian jersey. Speaking to Cricbuzz, Saikia clarified that the Indian team and the cricket board will adhere to the International Cricket Council's (ICC) directive during the tournament. Pakistan might have all the hosting rights for the Champions Trophy but they won’t be playing against India at their home, they will travel to Dubai for the match, which is scheduled on February 23. As quoted by Cricbuzz, Saikia said: “We will follow whatever are the ICC guidelines. We will follow the ICC directive." The latest statement from the BCCI secretary clarifies all the rumours regarding the Indian jersey. According to the rules, India would have violated the ICC’s code of conduct if they refused to wear Pakistan’s name on their jersey. The Champions Trophy is set to be played from February 19 to March 9, 2025, and the Indian team will be playing all their league games in Dubai.
