The Bangladesh Cricket Board has leveled up to introduce an autonomous body called the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), especially to combat match-fixing that surfaced recently in a few matches in the Bangladesh Premier League when both national and international players allegedly got engaged in match-fixing. The ACU will be an independent investigating body under BCB. After bouncing cheques, the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has found itself in troubled waters with heinous allegations of match-fixing and corruption. Various reports have been surfacing, indicating suspicious activities in multiple matches. The move of establishing the ACU came after ten players, including six national cricketers, were alleged to have been involved in fixing scandals. Anonymous sources and media reports are suggesting that at least eight games in the ongoing season have shown irregular betting patterns, leading to heightened vigilance from the ACU. However, the identities of the involved players has been denied to be disclosed but the matter needs immediate attention to get back the credibility of the league.
