In the latest development, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have announced their Test squad for the second Test against South Africa, starting from October 29. Bangladesh, under the leadership of Najmul Hossain Shanto, had a rough start to the series, suffering a seven-wicket loss in the opening match held in Dhaka. In a significant change made by BCB in the squad for the second Test, Khaled Ahmed has been brought in to replace Taskin Ahmed. Despite these numbers, his recent form hasn’t been promising, as he went wicketless in his four overs during the Tests against India. BCB selector and former opening batter Hannan Sarkar emphasized that the team management chose to focus on managing Taskin's workload as a priority. As quoted by The Daily Star, Sarkar said: "Taskin hasn't been dropped. We have a long list of international matches coming up in the next few months. The break will give him some time to rest and he can also start preparing for the upcoming series." The Bangladesh squad will be travelling to Chattogram on October 26 for the final Test match, eager to elevate their game ahead of a packed international cricket schedule. After this Test series against South Africa, they’ll face Afghanistan in a three-match ODI series in UAE.
