Bangladesh opened their Pakistan T20I series on a high note, winning the first game by seven wickets at the Shere Bangla National Stadium. A clinical all-round effort helped the hosts chase 111 without much trouble, winning the game in a mere 15.3 overs. Bangladesh chose to field first after gaining the toss. Pakistan's inning was marred by poor shot selection, weak dismissals, and three expensive run-outs. Fakhar Zaman was the only warrior with the bat as he made 44 off 34 balls, but all in vain because of the failure of the other end to support him. Taskin Ahmed (3/22) and Mustafizur Rahman (2/6) were the heroes with the ball, and the latter produced Bangladesh's most economical four-over spell in the T20Is. The dismissals of Saim Ayub, Mohammad Haris, and Captain Salman Agha left the Men in Green reeling at 40/3. Shortly thereafter, Bangladesh fielders sent Mohammad Nawaz and Fakhar run out. The last over witnessed Pakistan losing three wickets in three balls, two by Taskin and one more run-out, and were bowled out with three balls to spare. Parvez Hossain Emon held the innings together, smashing an unbeaten 56* off a mere 39 balls, coating his innings with three boundaries and five sixes, for which he was awarded the Player of the Match title. Towhid Hridoy played a valuable cameo with 36 off 37 deliveries, after being dropped twice. Emon and Hridoy together contributed a 73-run third-wicket stand. Jaker Ali (15* off 10) completed the match with two boundaries, clinching the victory with 27 deliveries to spare. Bangladesh's seven-wicket victory registers their first ever instance bowling out Pakistan in a T20I. The squad maintained their strong form as they recently won against Sri Lanka in a three-match T20I series by 1-2.
