Nahid Rana has been hit with a fine amounting to 25% of his match fees due to a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during the ongoing first Test at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet. This incident occurred on Day 1. It happened on the fifth ball of the 27th over of the Irish innings when Nahid fielded the ball during his follow-through and threw it inappropriately at Cade Carmichael, the No. 3 batter. The ball struck him on the pads, but it’s worth noting that Carmichael hadn’t moved out of his crease, and Nahid’s action seemed to stem from frustration. The right-arm pacer was found guilty of breaching Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. This clause addresses “throwing a ball (or any other item of cricket equipment) at or near a player in an inappropriate and/or dangerous manner during an International Match.” As a consequence, one demerit point has been added to the 23-year-old's disciplinary record, marking his first offence in a 24-month period.
