Virat Kohli joined the training session with the Delhi team for their practice session of the final match of the group stage, starting on January 30. And on January 29, Kohli was seen sweating in the net session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. He literally spent 35 mins in the warm-up session, something unusual for a senior team. However, the most remarkable and adorable thing that was visible on the field is that the "star batter" has been a "bhaia" to all—their dear "Virat Bhaia." Even so, the young captain of the Delhi team, Ayush Badoni, looked conscious when Kohli quietly walked towards him, asking him to bat first. Kohli was heard saying, "Ayush tu batting karle, phir dono switch karke karenge (Ayush you keep batting. After sometime, we will take turns to bat)." Earlier, like Rishabh Pant, Kohli too denied Delhi's captaincy, letting Badoni continue with it. He had to miss the previous match due to neck strain but returned in full-fledged fledge for Delhi's match against the Railways. Starting with a 15-minute football game and some sprints on the right wing, Kohli shared a few laughs with the boys. But once the net session began, he shifted into focus mode. Kohli spent almost an hour in the nets, initially working with throw-downs and perfecting his pull shot. He then faced left-arm spinners Harsh Tyagi and Sumit Mathur. Although a few deliveries did grip, there wasn’t much turn or bite from the spinners. The same applied to pacers Navdeep Saini, Money Grewal, Rahul Gehlot, and Siddhant Sharma, with Kohli looking untroubled. Despite his easy-going demeanor, Kohli concentrated on leaving deliveries and playing near the line in preparation for the upcoming Champions Trophy. Lately, he has been focusing on improving his back-foot play and expanding his shot range square of the wicket.
