The Australian team announced on Thursday that they’ve added a new player to their squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan, which is set to take place from May 30 to June 4. Unfortunately, regular captain Mitchell Marsh will miss the series due to an ankle injury he picked up during his time with the Lucknow Super Giants in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL). This opens the door for wicketkeeper Josh Inglis to step up as the stand-in captain. In an exciting development, batting all-rounder Cooper Connolly has been called up for the series and is ready to join the team in Pakistan. The first match will be held in Rawalpindi, followed by two more games in Lahore. On another note, Cricket Australia (CA) has stated that they will decide on Marsh’s availability for the upcoming white-ball tour of Bangladesh at a later date. Additionally, Australia is likely to give a chance to emerging pacer Ollie Peake for his international debut as they adjust their lineup in Marsh’s absence.
