India A has been knocked out of the 2025 Asia Cup Rising Star. After a dismal batting performance in the Super Over during the first semifinal, Bangladesh A triumphed over the Men in Blue and secured their spot in the final. In a nail-biting finish, Bangladesh A faltered in the final over, with Jitesh Sharma and Ashutosh Sharma both falling for ducks in the Super Over, leaving the Tigers with a mere 1-run target to chase. Jitesh tried to reverse-lap a yorker aimed at the middle stump but ended up getting bowled, while Ashutosh mis-timed a shot to extra cover. Even though Suyash Sharma managed to take a wicket, it just wasn’t enough for India A to clinch the win. Bangladesh Triumphs Despite Dramatic Collapse By the end of the 15th over in their chase, India A needed 45 runs from 30 balls definitely a manageable 9 runs per over with 6 wickets still in hand. But Nehal Wadhera struggled to find his rhythm. In his last 12 balls, the left-handed batter could only muster 11 runs, making it tough to watch. With 16 runs needed off 6 balls, the situation looked grim. Also Read | Will Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah Skip IND vs SA ODIs for T20 WC 2026 Prep? Just when it seemed all hope was lost, Ashutosh Sharma hit a massive six over long on, bringing it down to 8 runs off 3 balls. That’s when Bangladesh A really started to crumble. First, Jishan Alam dropped Ashutosh, and to make matters worse, the ball rolled to the boundary for a four. On the very next delivery, Rakibul Hasan bowled Ashutosh, and with four runs needed on the last ball, Bangladesh A faltered again. Harsh Dubey couldn’t connect properly while attempting a slog, and Wadhera made a dash for the other end. Bangladesh A thought they had it in the bag, but the fielder wasn’t paying attention. He threw the ball way off target, allowing Dubey to sprint back for a double. Keeper Akbar Ali then had a moment of confusion and threw the ball at the stumps but missed. Not only did India A complete the double, but they also managed to sneak in another run, sending the semifinal into the Super Over.
