The Indian opening batter Abhishek Sharma was awarded a Haval H9 SUV along with a cash prize of $15,000 (13 lakh) for being the player of the 2025 Asia Cup tournament. Abhishek Sharma was even seen taking a selfie sitting inside the car with his Punjab buddy, aka the team's vice captain, Shubman Gill. However, Abhishek can't ride the car here in India. Notably. the Haval H9 SUV has its steering on the left side. It is legally impossible to get that in India, as India is a right-hand-drive country as per local rules. The Haval H9 Suv is a luxury vehicle, with the H9 model getting launched in 2014 at the Beijing Auto Show. In the domestic market, the Haval H9 sUV might cost around ¥210,000–¥273,000 that is USD $29,000–$37,000. In India, if sold, it may cost around INR 25 lakh. However, on hearing Abhishek's issue, the brand has decided to launch a right-hand-based model so that the player can actually utilize it. Notably on receiving the car, Abhishek had his "love" celebration towards his team and later said, “Getting a car is always a pleasure. (How has this tournament helped you?) I mean, of course, getting into this team after winning the World Cup, it wasn't easy for any opener. But if you see, we had a plan that we want to play a game, you know, that we have to show intent from the first ball.” Read also: IND A vs AUS A 2025: Asia Cup Heroes Abhishek, Tilak Struggle for ODI Spot Abhishek Sharma brilliance in Asia Cup 2025 Abhishek Sharma proved to be one of the most impactful performers of the tournament, scoring 314 runs in seven innings at an average of 44.86 and a striking rate of 200. However, before the final, Abhishek sustained a cramp on his leg during the Sri lanka match, and had to sit outside while fielding. The effect was seen during the final against Pakistan. He couldn’t reproduce his earlier brilliance in the final, but his earlier heroics were vital to the team’s journey. As India gears up for the T20I series against Australia, Abhishek aims to carry his momentum forward and extend his sensational run in front of home fans.
