Bangladesh skipper Litton Das is optimistic of doing something historic at the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. They will launch their campaign in Abu Dhabi on September 11 against Hong Kong, and everyone's eyes are on their 16-member squad as they look to win their maiden multi-nation title. Litton admitted that the team will be involved in multiple challenges and stressed the necessity of collective improvement. Nevertheless, the Bangla Tigers head into the tournament on the strength of good momentum, having won three series in a row, Sri Lanka away tour, at home against Pakistan, and the Netherlands. Still, they have the burden of past failures in ICC and ACC tournaments. Here is what Litton Das said during the trophy unveiling ceremony: "We haven't yet had a taste of the championship, but that's history. History is there to be broken. There will be many challenges here, it won't be easy. But we'll focus on how we can improve as a team,” Also Read | SA20 2025-26 Fixtures Out: MI Cape Town vs Durban to Kick Off Season 4 The top-order batsman admitted that all the sides in the tournament are good but stressed that the country is ready to welcome the challenge. Under his captaincy, Bangladesh's winning percentage has increased and the top order has been shown more intent, and their strike rates have seen a huge improvement. Overall, the unit is ready to go and savor their first glory, waiting to put the first feather in the cap. "There's no sense of urgency. We've played very good cricket in the recent past and had quite a long camp. I think we're well prepared for the Asia Cup. All the teams are strong and it will be challenging, but we're eager to take that challenge and give our hundred percent,” said the Bangla Tigers skipper. Litton has led Bangladesh to six victories in eight games, but their ICC record is not impressive, and their strategy has been hesitant in moments that call for bravery. Even after the recent triumphs, Bangladesh are ranked 10th in T20Is, and their head-to-head record in Gulf countries is disappointing, with only one victory in 17 games against Afghanistan. Their first-ever meeting with Hong Kong, back in the 2014 World Cup, also was a loss.
