The 12th match of Asia Cup 2025 will be played between India and Oman. The dead rubber encounter will be played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on 19th September 2025 at 08:00 PM IST. During India's optional practice on the night before the match, nine players turned up, Gautam Gambhir being the one who was particularly notable in that he intensely mentored Harshit Rana through a long batting session. Arshdeep Singh, on the other hand, only had a brief session with less direct intervention of the head coach. With India already through to the next round and the Abu Dhabi match, Jasprit Bumrah may be rested before the thisencounter with Pakistan, with possibly Harshit Rana or Arshdeep Singh, who is on 99 T20I wickets, a possibility to play. Kuldeep Yadav asserted that India takes all opponents seriously by stating, "There are no small teams in T20 cricket. We will try to maintain the intensity in the match, it doesn't matter who the opponent is.” For Oman, the match represents a historic first encounter with India in any form, probably in front of a full Abu Dhabi house. The team has already endured two heavy losses in the tournament and has its work cut out for it against the world champions. But the match offers a chance to play more expansively, learn something useful, and try their mettle against some of the world's finest cricketers in a memory that will last a lifetime. Suryakumar Yadav spins the coin and it lands in the favour of India. The Indian skipper opts to bat first and there's a huge roar from the crowd. Here's what the captains said at the toss: Suryakumar Yadav: "We are looking to bat first. We have not batted first in this competition and we want to know our depth. Having game time is important going into the Super 4s. We want to continue the good habits we are doing in the first two games and want to continue to do that. It is looking nice and our openers will assess it further. We have two changes - Harshit comes in, one more guy comes in, I have become like Rohit (laughs)." Jatinder Singh: "I would have batted first. It is a great experience to take from here. Our team is young, lack exposure but this gives them a good chance to come here and test themselves. It is a great opportunity to share the field with India and get a look at their mindset. We have two changes."
