India cricket team will depart for Dubai four or five days prior to the beginning of Asia Cup 2025. The 8-team tournament, to be organized in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, will begin from September 9 onwards with India set to play their tournament opener against UAE on September 10. BCCI declared the 15-member team, with captain Suryakumar Yadav at the helm, for the marquee tournament on Tuesday with Shubman Gill being appointed the vice-captain. According to News24, Team India will depart for Dubai on September 4 or 5. No training camp will be conducted for the Men in Blue prior to the tournament, according to the report. It is noteworthy that India recently played a T20I series in January against England. Indian team members last featured in the shortest format of cricket in IPL 2025 from March-June. The report states that the selectors have opted not to hold any training camp as they are pleased with the performances of the chosen stars in IPL 2025. India will start their Asia Cup 2025 journey against UAE. Their highly anticipated encounter against arch-enemies Pakistan will be on September 14 in Dubai, and then they face Oman on September 19. With the tournament being staged in a round-robin format, India are expected to face Pakistan more than once.
