The 9th match of Asia Cup 2025 will be played between Afghanistan and Bangladesh, who are slated in a closely contested group. The match will be played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on 16th September 2025 at 08:00 PM IST. Rashid Khan-led Afghanistan have won their opening clash against Hong Kong and are placed at the second spot in the Group B's table. This match will be crucial for Afghanistan as a victory here will almost seal their spot in the Super 4 of Asia Cup 2025. Their last group match will be against the high-flying Sri Lanka, hence, Afghans will want their top order back into the runs in this game. Bangladesh, on the other hand, suffered a massive defeat against Sri Lanka in their second game of this tournament. Although, they have won one against Hong Kong, their qualification chances hang in balance as their NRR is negative and hence, they will not only need to win this match, but will have to emerge victorious with a huge margin in order to stay in contention. A defeat here for them will knock them out of the Asia Cup 2025. Afghanistan's captain Rashid Khan flips the coin and it falls in the favour of Bangladesh. Litton Das opts to bat first as chasing seems to be a tough task on a slow track of Abu Dhabi. Here's what the captains said at the toss: Litton Das: "We'll bat first. All boys are excited for this game, this is a must win. The wicket looks a bit on the slower side, 160 would be a good total. It looks like a good batting surface, but a bit on the slower side. The mood in the camp is good, we have had a good last few months. Can't think too much about the previous game. We have four changes - Taskin is coming back. We have three spinners and two pacers." Rashid Khan: "Would have loved to bat first as well, but in T20 it doesn't really matter. Guys had a good off for three days and we got a good practice session. Our strength is our bowling unit, specially spin bowling. We still need to bowl well as a unit and hit the right areas consistently. We need to come out with a positive mindset. Body feels great, looking forward to enjoy. We go with the same team that played against Hong Kong."
