Bangladesh have named a powerful 16-player team for the Asia Cup 2025, starting on September 9. Wicket-keeper batter Nurul Hasan Sohan and 26-year-old Saif Hassan have been recalled to the squad. Sohan, who had the last Bangladesh appearance in the 2022 T20 World Cup against Pakistan, comes back after impressive performances for Bangladesh A in the Top End T20 series in Darwin, where he made 109 runs in five games with a high of 35. Saif, who had the last appearance for the national team during the 2023 Asian Games, was equally impressive in the same tournament, scoring 117 runs with a strike rate of 130. Litton Das will remain in charge after leading Bangladesh to recent T20I series victories over Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Parvez Hossain Emon will provide the opening partnership, while Mahedi Hasan, impressive in the Sri Lanka series, has been given the nod ahead of Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who is standby.
