Seasoned spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, barely days after declaring his Indian Premier League (IPL) retirement, the 38-year-old has confirmed his availability in the auction for the International League T20 (ILT20), which will take place on September 30 in Dubai. If selected, he will play in the fourth season of the league, based in UAE, from December 2, 2025, to January 4, 2026. Ashwin's IPL retirement earlier this week put an end to a career that lasted 221 matches for five franchises including Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiants, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, and Rajasthan Royals. A two-time IPL title winner with CSK in 2010 and 2011, he was the fifth-highest wicket-taker in the history of the tournament with 187 scalps at an economy of 7.2. His last CSK stint in 2025 was on a dismal note. Purchased back during the mega auction for INR 9.75 crore, Ashwin featured in only nine games, his fewest since 2009, and had an economy of 9.12, his most costly campaign in history. Already retiring from international cricket in December 2024, Ashwin is now chasing opportunities abroad in overseas leagues. Here is what Ashwin told Cricbuzz: "I have sent my name for the ILT20 auction.
