The Indian cricket team will carry pace bowlers as back-ups forthcoming IND vs ENG Test series. It is likely that Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami will miss at least a few Tests of the five Tests, thus India want strong backup for pace bowling. Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna are almost certainly going to be selected and the Indian team would almost have to include a left-arm pacer. Arshdeep Singh is a serious contender. Although he has not made his Test debut yet, and is overdue for a call-up. Throughout the years, he has been put-down as a white-ball specialist, which ultimately cost him a spot in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy due to showing limited experience with red-ball cricket. That being said, he has taken 66 wickets in 21 first class matches and had his best bowling figures of 6/40 in last year's Duleep Trophy. His IPL 2025 form is impressive with 16 wickets to date. His ability to swing the ball combined with length (he is tall!) makes him a possible option in English conditions. There is not much experience of red ball for the CSK pacer either, but there is plenty of recent form. He has taken 52 wickets from 19 first-class matches, with an average of 28.34; in IPL 2025, he has bowled the most dot balls overall - 119 - and taken 14 wickets. His height could be another potential weapon, like Arshdeep, in the pace friendly surroundings of England.
