Emerging all-rounder Arafat Minhas made history on Saturday by achieving the best bowling figures for a Pakistan debutant in an ODI during the series opener against Australia at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. In his first match, Minhas took an impressive five wickets for just 32 runs in his 10 overs, making him the first Pakistani to secure a five-wicket haul on his ODI debut. His remarkable figures of 5/32 not only set a new record for Pakistani debutants but also broke a 41-year-old record previously held by former right-arm pacer Zakir Khan, who had taken four wickets for just 19 runs against New Zealand back in November 1984. The 21-year-old sealed his fifth wicket on the second-to-last delivery of his spell, outsmarting Nathan Ellis with a clever arm-ball. His outstanding bowling performance was well-supported by fellow spinners Abrar Ahmed and Salman Ali Agha, helping Pakistan bowl out Australia for a modest total of 200 in 44.1 overs during the series opener.
