A Sri Lanka cricketing veteran, Anglo Mathews reached the milestone of perhaps lifetime in his long and successful career. Angelo Mathews on day four of the test match against New Zealand at Galle completed his 114th test to become the third Sri Lankan cricketing to play 200 or more international matches at home. Only two other Sri Lankans achieved this, Mahela Jayawardene (249 matches) and Kumar Sangakkara (235 matches). Mathews, in fact, debuted in 2008; is a key player for Sri Lanka in all three formats. While more known for his Test and ODI contributions, he had been back in T20I cricket early this year-a possible revival of his white-ball career. So far in his career, he has scored up close to 7,000 runs and taken more than 200 wickets across all formats.
