New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr becomes the first player from Mumbai Indians to take a fifer in the TATA WPL history. She achieved this feat yesterday against UP Warriorz. During the match, Kerr also became the first player to take a fifer in this season. Notably, she also completed 375 wickets in her T20 career. After losing the previous game against Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians needed to win against UP Warriorz in order to stay in contention for a direct final. MI captain Harmanpreet Kaur opted to field first, and the decision paid off. Despite a strong start by UP Warriorz openers Grace Harris and Georgia Voll, who added 74 runs for the first wicket, Kerr’s brilliant bowling turned the match around.
