The West Indies fast bowler Alzari Joseph has been suspended for two matches as he left the field illicitly after having a disagreement with his captain Shai Hope in the third ODI against England at the Kensington Oval Bridgetown, Barbados. During the match, Joseph was seen unhappy multiple times. However, in the fourth over, he walked to Hope, expressing dissatisfaction regarding the field placement. Off the fourth ball, Joseph got Jordan Cox behind but stayed calm, coming back to his mark. He completed the over, and left the field unannounced, returning back to the dressing room. With Joseph leaving the field, the West Indies was forced to field with 10 fielders on the pitch. However, he came back in the sixth over but did not bowl before the 12 over. He got two more overs to bowl, did two misfields of his own bowling, gave England two happy runs due to overthrows, and left. In the middle, he bowled two more and three in the death overs. All over, he completed his 10-over quota, conceding 45 runs and taking 2 wickets. Disappointed CWI Director In 2023, West Indies Cricket assigned Daren Sammy as the head coach for the team. He is a man of management abilities and has the capability to get hold of the team. He stated, "I pride myself on having the difficult conversations. But in a way that everybody understands what is needed to be done. To see guys going out there and slowly progressing in the right direction makes me proud. There's still a lot of work to be done, but it's one that I'm quite passionate about." However, Miles Bascombe, CWI Director of Cricket, has expressed his disappointment. Mentioning the cricketing values, he strongly condemned Joseph's on-field behavior. He further said, "Such conduct cannot be overlooked, and we have taken decisive action to ensure the gravity of the situation is fully acknowledged." Despite such misconduct, West Indies won the match by 8 wickets.
