Rajasthan Royals' batting coach Vikram Rathour lauded Rahul Dravid’s dedication after the veteran cricketer turned up for the pre-season camp despite a serious leg injury. Dravid, known for his resilience, was seen wearing a cast but remained actively involved with the team’s preparations ahead of IPL 2025. Dravid sustained a tendon tear during a match for Vijaya Cricket Club in the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Group III league. However, the setback didn’t deter him. He was back on the field, overseeing practice sessions while moving around in a special wheelchair. His presence in the Royals' camp reinforced his reputation as the man who never backs down. Rathour, during a press conference, emphasized Dravid’s work ethic. Rathour stated, "Rahul sir has always been like this. Even during his playing days, he played with great enthusiasm. He has always been extremely committed to whatever he does. He has injured his leg, essentially suffering a tendon tear. But you can still see how dedicated he is. He is working closely with the players, engaging with them individually, leading group discussions, and strategising. His commitment is unwavering, and he is fully present here." Rathour expressed admiration for Dravid’s coaching philosophy, highlighting that their camaraderie has remained intact. Rathour remarked, "There isn't much of a difference. We have worked together before, and he is a brilliant coach. I really enjoyed my tenure alongside him. When we were with the Indian team, we were fortunate enough to win the World Cup. The only contrast is that the IPL is a shorter tournament, whereas Indian cricket runs throughout the year." Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals have made significant roster changes ahead of IPL 2025. One of the most exciting additions is 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who impressed in the domestic season. Rathour hailed the youngster’s potential, predicting a bright future for him. The Royals will begin their IPL 2025 journey against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23.
