The Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the upcoming series against England. Pandya suffered a low-grade quadriceps injury (leg strain) while increasing his bowling workload during training at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. He was initially forced to withdraw from the June ODI series against Afghanistan. A late rehabilitation setback has now ruled him out of the entire England tour, which includes five T20Is and three ODIs. A source close to the proceedings informed The Times of India that Pandya cannot attain his required fitness anytime soon. The source said, as quoted by the TOI, “Hardik has not been able to attain the requisite amount of bowling volume & conditioning required for an ODI format and will require more time to regain complete fitness for an ODI." Hardik Pandya will now stay in Bengaluru. He has been there since June 2 and will stay there as long as he is not getting his fitness back. He is in the 2027 ODI World Cup plan. However, the injury will delay his comeback.
