Ghazanfar is optimistic that the experiences from IPL will prove valuable in the series against India. "The IPL experience and time spent in India will definitely be helpful for me and my team. IPL Helps Afghanistan Gain Edge Against India Ghazanfar informed that although he and some other Afghanistan players were busy with their IPL duties, the rest of the team had been training in Kabul. The spin bowler thinks the training received by the two parts of the Afghanistan team has made them ready to face the Indian team in the coming ODI series. Allah Ghazanfar was quoted as saying by Revsportz: "First of all, the IPL was very good for me. The thing is, it’s very hot here, so we adjusted a bit to the heat. Before this, we had a camp in Kabul, I think for 30 days. We were in the IPL, and the rest of our team was in Kabul. Their preparation was also very good. We have already adjusted to the pitches and the weather here. And we’ll see how it goes from practice, but the players are very energetic. God willing, the result will be good." With their preparations, Afghanistan will look forward to putting up a tough fight against a strong Indian side. This year, as Rohit will start the batting order for the upcoming ODIs, Ghazanfar plans to use everything he learned during the training period. He Added: "Rohit bhai is legend and an extremely good player. My strategy is… he opens the batting and then I bowl with the new ball. Any lessons I have learned from him, we shall capitalize and let us see how things go. Yes, while batting… once I played, he gave me certain advice on that day. So, thanks a lot to him." This indicates the high regard Ghazanfar holds for Rohit, in addition to his aspirations to perform against one of the greatest batsmen in the world. Afghanistan Team: His Role Model in Cricket Responding to the question about his cricketing idol, Ghazanfar surprised everyone with his response. Unlike most youngsters, the Afghan cricketer did not mention an international star but rather credited the Afghanistan as his biggest inspiration in his younger years. It was also clear from the spinner that initially, he used to play with a tennis ball before taking to hard ball cricket in 2019. He Further added: "My role model was our Afghanistan national team. We all were watching our national team back then, so we had them as our role models." Now that he is full of confidence after his experience in the IPL along with solid preparation, it will be exciting for him to perform against India in the ODIs.
