Nepal, Oman, and UAE Seals Last Spots Earlier this week, Nepal, Oman, and UAE became the final sides to qualify for the 2026 T20 World Cup. It will be the second consecutive and third overall time for Nepal to appear at the competition. Oman will be playing for the fourth time, whereas UAE are back for their third appearance and their first since 2022. The qualifiers experienced some strong performances, with these three teams being the standouts in their respective regional events. Their qualification indicates the increasing competitiveness of cricket throughout associate nations in Asia and the Pacific region. Italy will make their debut, having qualified through the European Qualifier, along with the Netherlands. England and the West Indies, along with India, are the only other sides to have won the T20 World Cup more than once. The 2026 tournament will have the same structure as the 2024 competition. The 20 teams are split into four groups of five with the best two of each going to the Super Eights. From the Super Eights, the two best from each Super Eight group go on to the semi-finals, culminating in the final.
