The Jammu and Kashmir vs. Mumbai match has been full of happenings, and now Ajinkya Rahane coming back from the dressing room has been one of those. In a strange turn of events during Day 2 of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy match against Jammu & Kashmir at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy, skipper Ajinkya Rahane was seen returning to bat shortly after being declared out by the on-field umpires. The moment occurred in Mumbai’s second innings when Rahane attempted a pull shot off pacer Umar Nazir Mir. The ball nicked Rahane’s bat and was caught cleanly by wicketkeeper Kanhaiya Wadhawan. Mumbai skipper Ajinkya Rahane was initially declared out by the on-field umpire and began his walk back to the pavilion. However, in an unexpected twist, the third umpire reviewed the delivery and determined that bowler Umar Nazir had overstepped, resulting in a ‘no ball.’ Rahane was called back to resume his innings. Rahane couldn’t capitalize on his reprieve and was dismissed in the very next over while attempting an aerial cover drive. The ball flew towards mid-off, where Paras Dogra pulled off an incredible one-handed diving catch to his left. The stunning effort by the J&K skipper left players and spectators in awe.
