Aiden Markram South Africa's captain showed his ability to perform at his best during the match against Canada which took place in the 9th match of Group D at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Markram scored a quick half-century which took him at the second spot in the elite list of Proteas player to achieve the milestone of most fifties by South African players in T20 World Cup history at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. Markram had to walk back to the pavilion after Dilon Heyliger caught him off Ansh Patel's delivery, yet his batting performance had already caused significant harm to the opposing team. The Canadian bowlers faced difficulties against his batting skills which made him a challenging opponent during the powerplay and middle overs. South Africa progresses smoothly after their captain achieved a powerful beginning to their innings. Quinton de Kock supported Markram with 25 runs from 22 balls while Ryan Rickelton maintained the team's momentum by scoring 33 runs without being out from 20 balls.
