The Indian World Cup-winning cricketer Smriti Mandhana was supposed to get married to music composer Palash Muchhal on November 23. However, sudden medical emergencies has postponed the marriage for an indefinite period of time. Earlier it was Mandhana's father Shrinivas and later her fiancé, Palash Muchhal himself. However, unlike Mr. Mandhana, Palash's condition is not so serious. On Monday, that is November 24, it was reported that Muchchal suffered from a viral infection and increased acidity. He was rushed to a private hospital but was released the same day after treatment. Accoding to a report from NDTV, "Palash had to go to a private hospital for treatment due to a viral infection and increased acidity. However, the issue wasn’t serious. In fact, after receiving treatment, Palash has already departed the hospital for the hotel." Smriti Mandhana's father, Shrinivas Mandhana, deteriorated in health on Sunday during the pre-marital ceremonies. The marriage was supposed to be held in Sangli but Smriti postponed it till her father gets well. Smriti's manager, Tuhin Mishra informed that senior Mandhan was showing symptoms early morning during breakfast. He said to media, "Smriti’s father, Mr. Shrinivas Mandhana was having breakfast this morning, and his health started deteriorating. We waited thinking he would recover soon, but it didn’t improve. So we thought not to take any risk and called an ambulance, and he has been taken to the hospital. He is under observation." He added, “Smriti is very close to her father. So, she has decided to postpone the marriage, which was going to happen today, till her father is fine. The doctor has said he (Mandhana’s father) will have to be in the hospital for the time being. We are also in shock and hope that he recovers quickly because it’s a big occasion for everyone." Notably, Palash Muchhal proposed to Smriti Mandhana at DY patil Stadium where India defeated South Africa to win the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup. The haldi ceremony was done, and several photos went viral from the ceremonies that followed. Cricketers like Jemimah Rodrigues, Arundhati Reddy, Radha Yadav, Shafali Verma and Shreyanka Patil had attented all the ceremonies.
