On Thursday, the fourth day of the Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand was canceled because of persistent rain in Greater Noida. The game was set to start at 9 am, but the rain kept coming, so the officials decided to cancel the day's play for the fourth time in a row. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) stated, “The fourth day of the only Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand teams is also not going to be played due to continued rainfall,” “The decision about the start of the game tomorrow morning at 8:00 will be made after the stadium assessment,” In this series, not a single ball was bowled throughout the four days at this venue. This has sparked queries among experts and fans as to whether the venue was prepared for the matches or not. Only seven Test matches have ever been washed out without a ball being bowled. The last that happened was in 1998 when New Zealand and India clashed in Dunedin. The hosts, Afghanistan, have chosen this as the venue because of its convenience factor.
