Afghanistan sealed a record win against Bangladesh by defeating them with a 200-run deficit in the third and final ODI of the series on Tuesday, October 14, at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. After posting 293/9 in their 50 overs, the Afghan bowlers dismantled Bangladesh for 93 runs in 27.1 overs. Bilal Sami, in only his second ODI, took 5 wickets for 33 runs in 7.1 overs, while star spinner Rashid Khan added 3 for 12 in six overs, completing a commanding performance. The victory set a new benchmark at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, as no team had previously won an ODI there by 200 or more runs. The previous record was South Africa’s 174-run triumph over Ireland on October 4, 2024. Afghanistan now holds two of the highest ODI margins at the venue, including a 136-run win against Bangladesh in 2018.
